Marcia Harvey
Marcia Harvey, an African-American
writer, is known for her ex-wife comedian and host Steve Harvey. She decided to
keep her personal life private and away from the media. Steve did not have the
same level of success that the one he is now, however they were married 14
years. The reasons behind the couple's split weren't known, and rumors have
always been heard throughout Hollywood. Some have attributed it to Steve
Harvey's unsavory behavior and some to his choosing to pursue a different path
in life, such as comedy. Steve Harvey broke up with his two daughters when she
was expecting their third child, causing her to be devastated. Despite all the
challenges she was able to establish an impressive career as a writer and
fashion designer. Her books include "Marcia Eyes To The Soul",
"Marcia" and "Marcia Poems From The Heart". Her generosity
has brought joy to her kids. It isn't much known about Marcia Harvey's life
before her death, aside from the fact she was born into an African-American
household and that they were not wealthy. She began working for an department
store called 'Saks Fifth Avenue'. Steve was introduced to her at a reception
with a friend who was a few years later. They became inseparable, and they got
married in the year 1980. Steve was an insurance agent at the time. The couple
was blessed with twin daughters in 1982. Steve was already disillusioned by his
job and wanted to be an entertainer, specifically stand-up comedy. Marcia and
Steve were in a lot of conflict and reports later suggested that they were
starting to split up. Marcia Harvey's fame came primarily from her marriage to
Steve Harvey, and their divorce. Although the specifics of their 1994 divorce
are kept secret, it is evident that Marcia was expecting their third child at
the time that everything went downhill. Marcia ultimately filed for divorce on
the 23rd of March, 1993. After the divorce, and Steve Harvey's refusal to pay
alimony or child support, Marcia was forced to take legal action.
